Customer reviewsVery nice comfortable chair
The Zuri Macie swivel chair is comfortable, well-constructed, and beautiful, with a retro/modern look. The upholstered chair is covered in durable black leather that is not prone to stretching/wrinkling as some other leathers are see the sofa in these photos . The seat cushion is removable and is held in place with velcro. The seat foam is firm and resilient. The seat foam leather covering is zippered, as is the leather covering the body of the chair. The height of the back rest reaches to about half way up my back, just below the shoulder blades. The arm rests are padded, firm, and at a good height for taking the full weight of my arms. The base plate is made from solid steel plate, with a thick stainless steel overlay cover spin-polished to a flawless brushed finish. There are five screw-on floor protectors equally spaced around the perimeter of the underside of the base plate. The stainless steel vertical support tube is mounted to the base plate with three M8 machine screws. Inserted into the vertical support tube is a plastic flanged bearing sleeve, which supports the weight of the chair and allows full 360 rotation. A solid steel post fixed to the underside of the chair seat inserts into the bearing sleeve bore. A screw through the side of the vertical support engages a groove in the seat post to hold the top and bottom parts of the chair together and still allow rotation. The seat post and bearing sleeve are lightly greased to facilitate swiveling. Swivel motion is smooth, effortless, and quiet, with no squeaking. I weighed the chair by stepping onto a bathroom scale while carrying the chair, then subtracting my weight. The chair weighs 84 pounds, and the center of gravity is low. There is no tendency to tip at all. The easiest way to carry the chair is by the base plate, holding the bottom of the base plate against your body with the seat out in front of you. It is possible to separate the seat from the base by loosening the locking screw to carry those components separately. It would be best to have another person help you carry it, though. I ordered the chair directly from the Zuri website. It was delivered by FedEx fully assembled in a large crate.
