Has a strong chemical smell, probably formaldehyde. Left it hanging on the fence oudoors for a week, didn't help. Also leaves an oily feeling residue on my hands when I handle it. Otherwise seems like a decent product for the money, but it's not worth much if I can't stand to have it in the house because of the overpowering odor
