Stained glass is hand crafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900's.
Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand cut and copper foil is wrapped around each individual piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion.
The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.

Stunning LampI love this lamp. It's perfect. It isn't glass, it's plastic glass, but so is my older one, it's not a new thing they are doing, just an affordable thing. It is a beautiful lamp and it is perfect with my furniture. You can see the broth bulb through the clear/white pieces, but it doesn't take away from the lamp.
