don't take off the top pieceThis is a beautiful lamp. With terrible directions. Here's some tips: whatever you do, don't ever take the top brass piece off. Because if you do, you may hypothetically go through 3 broken lightbulbs. Now let's say you did accidentally take the top brass piece off and now you're trying to figure out how to reassemble the lamp. The metal wire piece and screw have nothing to do with the lightbulb. They are used to keep the top brass piece attached to the lamp, similar to how the globe attaches to the base. Now, any time you want to dissemble the lamp, do it carefully via the base. Enjoy this beautiful lamp
