Tony: Severe Manufacturing Defect

Good looking fan, but it simply didn't work. It didn't work because the fan motor had been installed in the housing unit incorrectly. The part of the motor that rotates to which the blades were attached was permanently mounted at an angle that caused it to rub on the housing to the degree that the blades would not rotate. Minka Tech Support was contacted and they advised that the defect was not correctable locally, and that I should return it to the place of purchase. Of course, Minka says the 150 I paid to mount the fan and the second 150 that I'll have to pay to mount the replacement fan was not their problem. If Minka has a Quality Control function at the point of manufacture, it was not evident in this product. No more Minka fans for me.
