Customer reviewsSo they were right... and yes, I flipped the switch.
I read multiple reviews from people saying that this fan creates no breeze. Then I read reviews from people saying that the other people just weren t smart enough to flip the switch to get the breeze moving downward. I even read a review from an engineer saying that there is no way this fan could not have a good breeze. I really wanted the engineer to be right, as it is a beautiful fan. My experience is that it doesn t matter which way the switch is flipped, no breeze in an outdoor application. After reading an article about ceiling fans, I see that it is likely that the very wide blade shape is the culprit, especially with the tapered blade tip that is the area that should catch and move the majority of your air . I ll be changing the blades out. As for the rest of the fan, it has a good speed, quiet motor, and a mild vibration that will hopefully be resolved after changing the blades to something more traditional. One thing to note is that the dome is not enclosed, so we expect it to be filling up with bugs rather quickly.
