Midway Gardens was an entertainment complex on Chicago's south side, and an extraordinary achievement for Frank Lloyd Wright, who personally designed and supervised all of its elements, including a series of cast concrete sculptures he called the “Sprites”. The Gardens fell victim to financial troubles and was demolished in 1929. This hand cast cement garden sculpture was adapted from the drawings found in the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Archives. Beautifully cast in stone, this striking garden sculpture will last for years in any climate. Shown here on the matching pedestal. Sculpture Dimensions: 6″W x 7″D x 31″H and Weight: 40 lbs. Customer reviews
Gorgeous statue. Great for Wright fans or anyone else.Beautiful in your home or garden and is exactly as described. Arrived in pristine condition thanks to custom foam packaging direct from the manufacturer and in only 4 days I live in Oregon, shipped from Washington . Includes the rod and 2-way glue to secure the base and sprite together. You might want to wait to glue it until you determine its final location. Wand is a separate item so make sure you don't accidentally drop it on the floor when removing the sprite from the foam. Rod is packed with the base and is inserted into the foam - took me a few seconds to find it.
