Jesse Walker: Not recommended. It'll scratch up whatever you set it on.

I've collected gargoyles for a while now, and this is the worst one I've seen. Most are something like solid clay or concrete or resin . This one is hollow. That isn't the problem. Hollow is fine, since it's fairly light weight my others approaching this size are VERY heavy . The problem is the quality, all around. Every other gargoyle I have half a dozen or so, most a bit smaller than this is nicer-looking, and better finished. This one isn't terrible, but several things make it a low quality item: the surface finish isn't great. Up close, it's very obvious that it's not stone. I don't *expect* it to be stone, but that's what it's trying to look like, and it isn't doing a good job. I currently have it set on top of a short bookshelf, and it's scratching up the surface of the bookshelf The bottom of this item is rough, and there are no felt or rubber pads like a well-thought-out product would have. If you get this, plan to add some on there to prevent it from damaging whatever surface you set it on. Also, this has been the most expensive of the gargoyle pieces I have. In all, I don't recommend it at the current asking price. Poor value.
