JD: Gorgeous clock-- Pendulum worked fine after hanging clock on wall

Gorgeous clock I was surprised pleasantly by how heavy it was when I got it. I read a lot of reviews saying the pendulum didn't work- I, myself, initially thought I got one with a broken pendulum when I put the batteries in and, while the clock and second hand worked, the pendulum didn't move. I was so disappointed.... UNTIL I put it up on the wall to see if I could still enjoy it without the pendulum moving, and as SOON as I hung it, the pendulum began to swing back and forth I can't say for sure- but it might be that the clock has to be absolutely level for the pendulum mechanism to work, maybe so that it doesn't get stuck .. I don't know if the previous reviewers ever found this to be the case afterward, but for anyone considering buying, try hanging the clock if the pendulum isn't moving once you put batteries in.. it might work after all Anyway- this clock is beautiful and quite large. I'm absolutely thrilled with it
