The top-mesh is required by U.S. fire code NFPA701 to be 70 open 20″ vertical down from the bottom of the sprinkler head. There are two reasons for that: 1 . In the event the fire sprinkler is activated the 70 open requirement is that the water from the sprinkler head, as you clearly see in the photo, must be able to penetrate the top-mesh and put out any fire. 2 . If patient is laying in bed and the fire alarm is activated the patient must have a clear view of the exit sign in the room. 70 open factor is what every Fire Marshal requires.
Washes extremely well but does not fade. The colors in the fabric will blend well and enhance the decor in the room.
