Bird Girl was sculpted by Sylvia Shaw Judson in 1936 and made famous by the best selling non-fiction novel, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt and from the movie by the same name. After the release of the book, the original statue was removed from the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA and currently resides in a museum in downtown Savannah. Bird Girl has become one of the most recognized sculptures in America.

Greenthumbs: High quality. Beautiful. Great for Savannah and fans of "the book". 23" tall.

Product arrived well-packaged. Heavy duty. High quality. However, anyone with a tape measure will find it is only 23". Very expensive item, but have waited for one of these for 10 years and most replicas get poor reviews. I searched and searched. This one is good at 23" if you can afford it. If not for the success and popularity of the book and movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, this statue might not even be in production or might be less costly. If you have the cash to spend and know a fan, they will really love this piece. I placed mine on 3 concrete stepping stones in a landscape bed to make it taller and to have more presence.
