Our Platform Beds employ a unique dual height slat kit and bed frame support system that eliminates the need for a foundation. Atlantic Furniture Platform Beds can be set in a high position to be used with a mattress only, or a low setting to accommodate for a mattress and foundation set. Amazon Customer: Not exactly what you might think

The bed is a nice color and I wanted something with real wood instead of pressed particle board. The price seemed fair. However, note that it only comes with ONE enclosed end and two drawers along ONE side. I got it for my daughter who didn't want her cat hiding under the bed. You have to push the open side against a wall and the head part against another wall for it to be enclosed. Not what I had in mind. The drawers also sit on the floor, there is no track, which I did read before purchasing and took a chance that they'd work ok. I think it's a decent bed, but would have been better without cutting the corners that the manufacturer did. It should most definitely be enclosed on all four sides, in my opinion. The picture is deceiving and inadequate.
