Description
A classic contemporary silhouette, the Odyssey Torchiere lamp is a triple pole design that flares upward from the base to hold a metal bowl shade. In addition to providing up light, the shade carries light down through the 7 Diameter frosted glass disk. An Adesso patented 300 Watt Double Socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150 Watt incandescent or LED bulbs which provides approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere. A simple foot step switch turns this lamp on and off. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. All Adesso lighting products are either UL listed or ETL listed, meaning it has been tested and approved to meet the government-regulated safety standards for the USA. When shopping for lighting products, we recommend to always look for the UL or ETL marks to ensure you are purchasing lighting that has been tested for safety standards by a 3rd party testing lab. Unfortunately, not all lighting products in the marketplace have been through 3rd party safety testing.

Quality Control is POORFirst the good news: This is an attractively designed lamp in a nice brushed steel matte finish. With two 100 watt LED daylight bulbs, it's very bright. That's the good news. The bad news is the fit and finish of the parts is TERRIBLE. As other reviewers have noted, the parts don't fit together smoothly, giving the struts a bent appearance. Looking closely, you see the parts don't fit together right as they're a bit off center. I also had to bend the bulb sockets to get the bulbs in as the sockets were set too close to the shade. There's no way a 150 watt 3-way incandescent bulb would fit unless you bent the sockets out even more. The sockets are not "criss-cross" as shown in the diagram on Amazon. They're set next to each other on one side of the inside of the shade.
