Attitude of Gratitude

attitudeAttitude of Gratitude

During this season we are particularly attuned to the attitude of gratitude toward the people, places and things in our lives. We set aside our thoughts and feelings of what is wrong with our lives and the world for just a moment in time. It allows us to invite a spirit of family and togetherness beyond our normal daily routines.

In my coaching practice I encounter a consistent mindset that focuses on what is not wanted. Folks are dismayed by the events and people in their lives that seem to reflect these undesirable situations on a continual basis.

We often shift this focus, through mindful practice, to that of an attitude of gratitude for those desirable situations that are always present, too.

What does that do for the beneficial evolution of one’s life and/or perspective?

Consider the notions presented by much of the material over the last decade or so regarding the nature of how we attract what we think and feel strongly. Some refer to this as the Law of Attraction, but the concept and philosophy has been around for centuries under different labels. Just take a moment and reflect, if you would, on how your life has been very different when you experience situations that edify your humanity, your good will and those who example that toward and with you and others.

What did you discover?

Your world of personal and professional relationships is full of desirable and undesirable situations, right? If you could determine a ratio of desirable to undesirable situations, what might it be? Are you satisfied with that? Is it possible to change that ration for the better? Do you want to? When?

Imagine the results of changing your perception just slightly. It’s hard to shift your emotions, how you feel, when the situations have emotional triggers that take you out of the sense of continuity or flow, right? Sometimes we have moments of just observing the situation for what it is, completely removed from our personal emotional state and/or view of the reasons for it happening. That is a very powerful position and full of possibility. Possibility of what?, you might ask.

We can grow in compassion and understanding when we are able to disengage our own emotions and our attachment to the outcome of the situation. It is what it is and it will resolve according to the emotions and perceptions of those in it. Does that make sense? We’ve heard about the notion that when you change your view, your perception, the world changes automatically.

Imagine what an attitude of gratitude for the challenges we face can do for changing perspectives. It frees us from the emotional turmoil often associated with undesirable results. It also allows us to refocus on desirable outcomes and work toward them instead. A lack of communication is often the culprit as well.

Too often we engage situations with unspoken and unfulfilled expectations that affect our internal engine, so to speak. Instead of running efficiently we choke and sputter because our supply of fuel is diminished. So it is with communication. We are often hindered by our fear of rejection or resistance, so we remain quiet and then walk away feeling emotionally damaged. How does that help?

One simple thing can make all the difference in the world. It may feel scary at worst, but at least uncomfortable, yet we simply must open our mouths and say what is on our mind and/or heart. It might stir others and cause a disruption in the perceived flow of the situation, but the result will take the outcome to a new height in relation-ship building. In effect, you’ve just created another level of transparency.

What happens when people know more about each other and the situation at hand? Can they deal with it more effectively? Does it offer opportunity for achievement beyond the previous constraints? I would venture to say that, in nearly all situations, there is a sense of gratitude that things were spoken that everyone was feeling but no one was willing to offer for discussion.

So, in conclusion I would like to offer and even suggest that when you feel tension in a situation rather than allow it to continue, you might engage an attitude of gratitude for the opportunity to help make things better for everyone. Beyond the resistance or turmoil it may create, temporarily, you’ll garner a deeper respect for yourself and from others. Remember.. Your attitude determines your altitude.

Thanks for letting me in today. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Breathe Oneness

Breathe Oneness

I was reminded of an experience in Las Vegas almost 20 years ago now, at a weekend workshop called ‘Vision.’ Of course it was about self-development and creating alignment with purpose, people, places and things in our life.

The last day we (180 or so) were thrust into a ballroom with the edict of ‘creating a miracle.’ The miracle happened when the partner (for the seminar) of one of guys put a rose in a vase in the center of the room, unbeknownst to him at the time. Shortly later he arose from a meditation on the side of the room, walked over to the rose and sat with it, cross legged.

Before too long he was weeping uncontrollably. Many came to his aide and attempted to ‘make it okay,’ desiring to pull him out of the seeming funk. He responded with, “No, you don’t understand… you don’t understand.” After several minutes the entire group, again unbeknownst to him, had surrounded him, with arms outstretched and embracing one another as he continue to weep completely oblivious of his surroundings. Then he stopped.

Through tear-soaked and swollen eyes he looked up at the group around him now, all 180+ in a huge group hug…. simply loving in the silence of the embrace. He smiled and arose, wobbly from the outpouring. Someone asked him what happened. He said it was like the rose was a connection to the Earth and all the sorrow came pouring through it and into him.

It evidently began to subside as the group gathered around him, first wanting to push or pull him into a different place instead of allowing him to just BE in that moment. When they finally did just allow and embraced each other in a loving ‘unknowing’ the energy shifted and the sorrow subsided. The miracle had occurred.

In his statements about the experience he expressed the deep sorrow he felt from the rose vis a vis the planet and her deep despair regarding our treatment of each other and her simultaneously. It was nearly unbearable as he noted the words he spoke to those who, early on, attempted to get him to come out of that obvious despair, not knowing truly what it was. His response of, “No, you don’t understand!” came from deep within that consciousness that was being shared with him through the rose.

Ultimately they all at least got the message of our inhumane treatment of each other and the planet and at least for a brief moment in time they had all released any and all bias, judgment, prejudice or whatever… and breathed in and out together in a an embrace of unconditional love. It was truly magnificent to witness, this breath of oneness.

Just in case you haven’t experienced a breathing as one event… try Do As One.

Some Time Ago…

Here we are, 36 years later, with much proof of attempted contact. “Beware of the bearers of gifts and the broken promises.

(signed treaty violated by Earth’s elite) “Much pain but still time.” Disregard for life in all its forms, yet there is time to facilitate harmony among people and planet. “Believe there is good out there.” NO THREAT from off planet civilizations. Paul Hellyer (retired Canadian Defense Minister) revealed this is well known in the Military Industrial Complex. “We oppose the deceivers.” Opposition for those who continue to control and manipulate through fear-based systems. Opposition does not mean aggression, either. Beyond the mirroring of behavior, authenticity and openness flow more than fear. “Conduit is closing.” No longer will deceptive practices be hidden – what is done in the shadows will come to light naturally. Human-centric notions will end. The Galactic Year is ending, cosmologically affecting our solar system, right down to the cellular brain of our DNA.

There has been a growing trend, an increase in consciousness, that assuages the old belief systems and offers a new living awareness. It is evident across the world and throughout existing belief systems that have fallen short of their intended purpose – to unite humanity as one. There is a New Time and a New Way; understanding that humans are related to each other and to ‘extraterrestrial’ races as a galactic family, a galactic federation of light. The so-called ‘dark intentions’ were merely the process of an evolving civilization separated from the true knowledge of their origins, learning how to manage or mis-manage resources – people, places and things. It is a challenge for humans to see this based on their (to date) short life spans.

Here we are now in the New Time, with renewed passion for reordering our world in harmony with natural law and order. We’ve learned, at an accelerated rate since the Harmonic Convergence, that when the doorway opened and the exponential shifts in consciousness began to occur aligned with the opening created by celestial alignments, the subtle energy dance with a different beat – that of the heart.

In this New Time, truth emerges as continuous discoveries are made in science, spirituality and technology. We know there are many dimensions, demonstrated by modern mathematicians and experienced by those who, for some reason, enter into realms of consciousness heretofore only hinted at in ancient texts. Humanity is indeed awakening. However, many still seek proof in some way. Consciousness is inherently intangible yet direct experience is available. We’ve kept our inner life at a distance, rarely visiting let alone actualizing outwardly in passionate deliberate creations. Many have risen to the tasks and are experiencing breakthroughs (which are sometimes a series of break-downs) in their personal and professional worlds aligning more.

On a different plane, the bodies of that vibratory rate (similar to the physical and visual experience of Earth, not limited to 3-D physics), haven’t even begun to be explored fully. We talk about multidimensionality, with limited if not rare experiences of it, yet even with all the talking heads, there is little provided that offers a direct experience of it on demand. This is where the scientific method comes into play and with repeatability, there is capacity for expanded knowledge and wisdom, the ‘right use’ which inherently resides in the higher vibratory experience. Now that we’re in the New Time, and the remainder of the 50-year cycle surrounding the 2012 Winter Solstice, the thoughtmosphere is ripe for harvest. Implementing the awareness garnered over the last 25 years, putting it in time frame orientation, we craft and execute a new living awareness and behavior in the world.

That behavior is a demonstration of how well you are aligned with this new living model that self-corrects as awareness continues to grow. The stories are being told, those who’ve incarnated are becoming aware of their connectedness to something bigger. It’s been illusive, this path of perfection embedded in our genes and soul, the consciousness brought on by discovery and sharing of psycho-spiritual as well as scientific technologies. For the time being, though, existing systems are still in play and many still have to pay bills. That is the dilemma that has faced three generations, starting with the Peace, Love and Harmony generation of the 60s.

The Occupy Movement was the collective conscience acting out with the first stage of ‘something is amiss’ and demonstrating for addressing the obvious problems caused by poor fiscal and physical management. The wave swept the planet in a few weeks, but it was not destined for achieving results, only awareness that a seemingly huge number of people around the world agree we have a common stake in the development of our future society. Oddly enough, Crop Circles appear that seem serendipitous to events around the world and continue to offer communication to us through the bio-circuitry of the bent plants that then transfers through the thoughtmosphere of the planet and people. It supports the subtle shifts of the cosmological events as our Mother, a daughter also, begins another cycle.

There undoubtedly many methods to achieve direct experience. One such form of experience available today comes from a technique developed in the 1950s by William Swygard, called Multi-Plane Awareness. It has only been performed as an individual experience through a ‘qualified’ facilitator for decades, yet no one has taken it to the next level – for distribution – now available as an MP3 download. Only your direct experience will prove its reality… or not. Responses from those who’ve tried it have been quite phenomenal…. the bridging of worlds beyond their imagination… http://ow.ly/jzAcb

Enjoy your journey and lead with vision.

The Process of Critical Self-Reflection

8-aspectsSelf-Reflection

The process of critical reflection of assumptions empowers one and many to view influencing details that determines the ability to find consensus and harmony in any situation. Harmony does not mean the absence of conflict, merely the creative buy cialis 20mg use of it to resolve issues that inhibit cooperative and collaborative relationships in professional and personal environments.

The article presents perspectives of human patterns and the avenues available to establish collective understandings of beliefs, intentions, values and feelings to facilitate a ‘common’ reality that is workable for everyone. Critical reflection of assumptions is used to enter into a discourse to assess alternative beliefs, predicated on universal principles. CRA is used in Transformational Theory, Assimilative Learning, Objective Reframing, and Subjective Reframing for adult learning.

Transformational Theory

Transformational Theory (Mezirow, 1991,1995, 1996), which uses reflection, maintains human learning is promoted in communication through assessing intentions, values, moral issues, and feelings which requiring the use of critical reflection of assumptions. Transformational Theory holds that CRA is not a panacea or provides some transcendent experience to resolve conflict. Rather, it presents the process as a ‘best practice’ compared to other options that have been used in the workplace.

Assimilative Learning

Assimilative Learning, as used by psychoanalysts, pertains to adjustment or accommodation to a difficult situation by accepting it as conforming to one’s desire. This process moves one to act according to regulative principles, a way of thinking or behaving deemed more functional or acceptable. This seems to characterize the way adults learn to adapt to change, using tacit judgment to move forward to constructive results.

Objective Reframing

Objective Reframing examines established definitions, theories, and practices to better understand the paradigms influencing decision-making. Using critical reflection of a premise and defining a problem can lead to transformative redefinition and ‘problem posing.’ The objective of this process, in the all its facets, is to improve performance.

Subjective Reframing

Subjective Reframing examines psychological or cultural assumptions to reveal conceptual and psychological limitations.

In all of the above situations, critical reflection of assumptions is used in discursive groups to assess and manage flow of communication relative to outcomes desired within those same discursive groups that are commonly found within the workplace environment. The task for a manager is to creatively translate the use of critical reflection of assumptions and discourse to effectively facilitate conflict resolution in the workplace.

Questions:

What are the tools available for creating an atmosphere where critical reflection of assumptions can be used effectively? How can one facilitate the use of such tools in environments where human communications are predicated on form, fit and function of critical path assessments?

Potential Answers:

Human resource development programs using a combination of psychoanalytic assessment tools and facilitation training for employees are one possibility. Cultural diversity and sensitivity training for managers is another, as they can then affect communication in their respective departments. Team building or collaborative alliance training outside of the company’s environment is yet another possibility that offers professional development through reliance on others as well as self.

Critical path assessment, defining the basic fundamentals of production, can be introduced through various scenarios involving critical reflection of assumptions. One such opportunity would involve discovering the logic path used to streamline production processes, eliminating wasted resources and labor costs as a functional goal. Another would use interpersonal skills development to better affect communicating goals and objectives to a diverse population within the workforce.

Personal ethics statement: I will to do good for all, desiring to serve humanity in the highest and best use of my mind/body/spirit complex, in the facilitation of a new world order of harmony among people and planet through the development of a state-of-the-art model community and website that promotes this endeavor.

Cosmic Conundrum: Who Am I?

CosmicConundrum-21st-KindleAuthor Bruce ‘Zen’ Benefiel offers a healthy dose of spiritual wisdom for an “out-of-this-world” reader experience. Some dynamics which make this book a helpful guide are the author’s out-of-body experiences, his education and unique intelligence, combined with (but not limited to) an aptitude for research, diverse content synthesis and organization, complete with workbook opportunities for reflection on the provided material.

Zen embraces psychological, scientific, intuitive and mystical explanations, offering practical exercises for meditation, releasing emotional blockages, mentorship, deepening the experience of “flow,” and more. Where relevant, Zen gives simple and effective definitions of spiritual terms for comprehension, and methodical processes for readers to achieve similar results with the suggested exercises. The author’s knowledge of mental-emotional transformational methodologies makes for well-explored and deeply penetrating lessons on the self-help topics.

Woven by the common thread of his mystical experiences, Zen continually provides insightful logic regarding the ultimately inevitable connections among science and spirituality, connecting within, and galactic citizenry. Meaningful personal stories from the author’s physical life experience are steeped in wisdom. That said; the author’s emotional vulnerability is a great asset to humanizing the mystical experiences he lives out.

Zen’s authentic sharing creates a good foundation for us (the readers) to contemplate and realize the unique reality to which we have embraced and have been exposed. The book reveals compelling evidence that we can each go beyond our normal waking consciousness to connect in higher and finer ways. The material provided ties into an overall cosmic picture, complex enough to stretch our ideas of reality and cosmic responsibility while, at the same time, practical enough to not lose accessibility in the lessons offered.

Ethereal experiences are occasionally scoffed at due to popular misconceptions of an ethereal person’s resulting incongruence with normal reality (aka, “airy-fairy”). However, sound reasoning and pragmatic advice ensure that readers like us can learn from the offerings even if we aren’t able to relate the material in its entirety. For example, Zen offers practical guidance on the most basic and often overlooked necessity of balancing and resolving our emotions. Since such healthy (and practical) behaviors aren’t yet common sense for mankind, we could clearly argue that not only is a person’s reality highly relative to the beholder, but reality is also highly relative to how many people are beholding it. In other words, common sense is relative to what a group considers common. Even then, a high commonality doesn’t necessarily indicate truth.

The book finishes with a long anticipated, full-blown explanation of the author’s involvement with the Ashtar Command and galactic citizenry at large. It completes with thought-provoking inquiries that are artfully designed, not to coerce, but to make the reader ponder their own spiritual and galactic responsibilities. At minimum, the existing platform from which the author invites the reader to make positive considerations for spiritual living is a love-based one. If you are a fan of the Ashtar Command and the Celestial Alliances, you’ll like this book even better. Regardless of what you believe or experience, this versatile book can be of benefit to you.
