One World – Public Access

OneWorldShow1I had an interesting transition from marriage and the corporate ladder in early 1989. I had a major shift in my life to say the least. viagra 100mg I really tried to do my best in both worlds, but failed in each evidently. I acknowledge that I missed some signs in each, yet my inner direction and ‘guidance’ from that place of universal connection we all have seemed to want something different. It was nothing shy of traumatic and tumultuous and I wasn’t sure I’d make it through initially. It was a tough road for me emotionally and spiritually, yet I eventually made it to higher ground.

In the summer of ’89 I got involved with a project called ‘Earth Concert 1989‘ that was being spearheaded by a guy named Jean Hudon from Canada. He’d written a book called The Immortal Child that I found solace in during that period and eventually met up with him later in the year. While networking and looking for sponsors I had the opportunity to present the concept to the Christown Lion’s Club. I knew they were doing events and had a nice insurance policy that could prove very useful in acquiring a site for the Phoenix spoke of the event.

Something unexpected happened, though, and it led to the opportunity to produce and host a television show. The very first show was a conversation between a good friend and I about the focus of the show and what I hoped to accomplish. It was my first time on camera, so I was nervous as heck. Rodger Schnellenberger was actually the second choice for the conversation. Andy Olson, a local radio personality, was supposed to be there, but he got tied up with a meeting at work, so Rodger stepped in. What a gift, too. Rodger had a Masters in Television and Video production from Arizona State University and was very comfortable being put on the spot… in the light. Enjoy the view and I’ll pick it up again in a moment.

The discussion brought up key points regarding the progression of consciousness and new thought that was driving the conversations in the community of folks that many called ‘metaphysical,’ ‘new age,’ or ‘spiritual.’ At that time the internet was non-existent and the proliferation of ‘new thought’ was far from ubiquitous. I’d had the opportunity to put many of the philosophies to the test and distill an awareness that seemed worthy of sharing. I also felt that if I was going through this process, then others must be having these kind of challenges, too.

How the show evolved was nothing less than surreal as the whole chain of events seemed to have an invisible hand guiding them. After the presentation of the Earth Concert concept to the Lion’s Club, the president approached me to get involved with the group. He thought I’d get along famously with a guy who was currently directing a show for them that featured Harry Eagle, the origami man, who was teaching how to make origami.

Long story short, the director and I became fast friends and I went through the training classes to be able to participate in the behind the scenes production components at the public access studio. Our relationship extended into rock climbing and other desert adventures. Several months went by and I learned the various skills required to produce a show; audio and video decks, graphic generation and display, switcher, camera operation and floor direction. It was a lot of fun. At the time I was pretty well networked in the metaphysical community from events I’d been producing, both independently and with others.

One evening I could tell his patience with the talent was growing thin. I was sitting at the computer graphics generator, next to the switcher (used to control the lights, audio mix, camera displays and final feed to the 3/4 inch video recorder) where John was stationed as director. He turned to me during a break and asked me if I’d produce a show about ‘new age’ topics since I was already heavily involved in the community. I hadn’t said a word about my secret desire to do so. I told him I’d love to, but ‘new age’ wasn’t a label I wanted to use for the show as it was still very controversial and I wanted to be able to appeal to a larger population.

It took a little while and when we decided on ‘One World’ we thought it was more congruent with the theme of creating harmony among people and planet. I had no idea how I was going to structure the show, though. One afternoon I was meditating, with nothing particular on my mind, when all of a sudden the ‘format’ showed up. I’d bring guest on and ask a series of questions about who they are, what prompted to do what they are doing personal and professionally from both internal and external perspectives.

From there we’d explore the fears they encountered and, more importantly, how they overcame them and how they seem that pattern or process reflected in the people they worked with and in the community at large. Finally, we would discuss what barriers they see to a global community in harmony, how they see those barriers dissolving and what evidence they can offer of it. The first show was the kick-off where we’d introduce the concept and have some fun discussing the personal and professional paths Rodger and I had trod to date. As you saw, we really had no script and jumped in with both feet from the beginning.

What was really interesting was that Rodger and I had a number of private conversations off camera about the thinness of the veil between this life and the next. I’d had numerous experiences with necromancy, being able to talk to dead people, so our conversations took on a deeper dynamic. I had introduced him to his future wife, Annie, who was staying with me at the time. She was a gifted psychic as well as a really cool woman and they hit it off the moment they met. She was visiting from Scotland as well and after extending her visa, they moved to Kentucky to help his parents with their trucking business. A year later they returned to Phoenix to get married.

Rodger and I did a one-year anniversary show as well. Hopefully I can find that a post it eventually, too. I’ve had about 50 tapes left from the 100+ shows of the series and only recently finally got some of them converted and posted to YouTube. At any rate, Rodger and Annie went back to Kentucky and just over a week later Rodger died in a car wreck on his way to work one morning. I understood why we seemed to always end up talking about the veil then. It was prep work.

Of course, in classic style he came to me a few days later as I entered my home. I got an intense feeling that I needed to lay down, like I was suddenly overwhelmed with fatigue. No sooner did I get prone than his face appeared in my vision (eyes closed) and I heard him say, “Hey, got something to show you.” For the next few minutes my vision was filled with video vignettes from the other side, offering further confirmation to our discussions and some tasty tidbits of information that answered some of my further questions about consciousness in general. You’ll find those peppered throughout my books. Just google’- ‘Zen Benefiel, author’ and you’ll find them. Or just look over at the sidebar.

I’ll be sharing another show soon, with comments about our discussion and future discoveries. All of these shows were recorded at the Glendale Public Access Studio, owned by Dimension Cable Services, from May of 1990 to August of 1922. I’m so grateful for the dedication of the volunteer crew and all the guests who participated. We were pioneers in the field at the time. Maybe someday I’ll have an opportunity to revisit the theme.

Planetary Citizens

OnePlanet“Our mission must be to create a global community of shared responsibilities, shared benefits, and shared values. The new focus will require all of us to think about the how, and to find new ways to take action to solve the global issues that none of us can tackle alone.”  Foreward: how– Why HOW We Do Anything Means Everything. That title speaks to this moment and our lives.

PlanetaryCitizens.net’s mission is to create and nurture positive change in the world. We hope to give you pertinent information and relevant facts in the process. Donald Keys, speech writer for U Thant in the 60s, coined the phrase Planetary Citizen on the way to creating The New World Alliance. The Occupy Movement is a global announcement of dissatisfaction in leadership and a call for change. Our plan is to showcase people, places and things that are contributing to the process of establishing a new world order of harmony among people and planet. We understand the term ‘new world order‘ has mixed emotional perspectives. Our world needs a new order.

A ‘new world order’ does not mean the continuation of the current status quo and control of the world economy by the corporatocracy, although one necessarily leads to the other over time. A true ‘new world order’ is emerging as humanity peers into the depths of what keeps us afraid, angry, ignorant and immobile and transcends all such notions. The late Khigh Dhiegh offers his version of the Planetary Citizen pledge in encouragement to us all. The Shift Movement’s Wheel of Co-Creation is just one example of engaging systemic change in a holistic fashion.

Our PlaneteryCitizens.net executive summary invites participation with phenomenal results upon execution. It is a brilliant and timely solution to self-organization through showcasing people, places and things aligned with the new global ethic of planetary citizenship. Our model is an example of the shift from Ego to WEgo, an evo-leap in behavior empowered by the challenge to change from selfishness to selflessness. We intend to align with the newly released ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standards and encourage their wide-spread use in 21st Century business practices. Harmony among people and planet is the successful negotiation and transcendence of the chaos we’re experiencing into a new world order of accountability and responsibility toward human and planetary needs for sustainability.

We cite evidence of the need and solutions available from world servers throughout academia, economic restructuring, organizational development, new social architecture, scientific discovery, and technological advances that appear to be pointing toward an emerging order from the chaos of our ignorance. We consider that humanity has reached this state of affairs through the best efforts of those whom have led our development. We honor those who came before us, but we have reached a time for new focus and work ethics that match our desire for change.

There has been a lack of consideration of the long-term effects of poor resource management and lack of sustainability. We have not learned the laws of nature. Change is inevitable; we can engage it through a collaborative response.how – Why HOW We Do Anything Means Everything is an excellent book everyone should read. We produced a promo for a television show decades ago that has a similar message. Who?, unfortunately, didn’t get much traction back then.

We have a challenge to change – a shift from prior behaviors. Our existing systems need a reboot, a refreshing of focus toward life-friendly notions that move us beyond liabilities, limitations andexcuses. The Valley of the Sun Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development presented their annual conference in 2010 with the theme: “The Shift: Challenge to Change – removing liabilities, limitation and excuses in the workplace.” If the training and development world are sharing the message, our world is about to change dramatically from the subtle shifts in behavior. A new attitude emerges.

Where are we headed?

Our goal is to create an environment here that empowers each visitor to engage their passion for local and global action and/or service in the 21st century. At first glance we may appear like just another voice singing to the choir. Eventually you will see we are a demonstration of collaborative action, based on the accepted standards of humanitarian service organizations and the notion of making sense common. Instead of fighting for attention, we deliver it.

We’re garnering attention and focus on systemic shifts that support a holistic global world view, empowering the diversity toward unity of purpose – a better world for us all. We are developing a comprehensive internal solution using an ISO 26000-based questionnaire and protocols for social responsibility. Application of this tool empowers the systemic shift, mitigating resistance to change and buy-in from leadership and throughout an organization.

Many people are at work in this great effort; from the trenches to the mountaintops wisdom is being shared on- and off-line. Concerted effort and arduous collaboration has been done to create the documents below, so we begin there. What evolves is our actions in alignment with these global efforts. Would you like to be involved in this production?

As we progress and our reach increases through the personal, professional and social networks available our efforts will culminate in the building of a model village that synergizes sustainable development principles with a new understanding of social architecture that empowers excellence in all we do. Like Einstein revealed, we cannot fix a system with the tools that created it. Facebook, LinkedIn, ecademy and others provide opportunity and are underutilized for promoting business and social change.

What are we using?

World standards are evolving. Community humanitarian action fueled by economic, educational, social and technological needs can be more effectively engaged by planetary citizens; Cultural Creatives turned tenacious trades-persons. We suggest an initial document the serves to provide a consistent intentional level of compliance and/or service. This document, the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standards, was initiated by representatives from over 90 countries. It serves as a working document for encouraging intentional action of companies and corporations toward socially responsible action. Communication of intention is a great place to start and you can get your Draft Copy here.

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is also a primary document that provides a code of ethics for general behavior. Humankind is diverse across many perspectives, yet we consider all to be planetary citizens and as such would benefit greatly from the wisdom of this declaration. We can see that maligned resources, poor fiscal management and repressed populations have created near chaos in the world. We support making sense in the promotion of responsible activity throughout all existing systems, creating a new world order of harmony among people and planet. Our internet brothers and sisters, friends and relatives help create a thoughtmosphere of good will.

What is in it for you?

As we grow into the mission and vision of Planetary Citizens, you will have access to a wealth of information; people, places and things that support harmony among people and planet. If you are adept at searching the Web you can find resources on your own, but we’ve made it easier to garner more with less time spent. You will gain access to resources that embrace a new millennium mindset and remain practical and pragmatic in the bridging of cultures, religions, political notions and world service. In short, you can find something of relevance for just about any topic regarding planetary citizens…. YOU.

Are we really one?

Are we really one?

Is this a question we ask in our daily deliberations? If we do, what do our answers reflect? How do we respond in our thoughts and actions on a moment to moment basis?

Amidst the daily travails of tending to our relationships on personal and professional levels, the question might never arise. Some years ago, nearly 36 now, I had a near death experience that changed the way I viewed life and set me firmly on the path of inquiry. I became and eduholic in the trust sense, I dug deep within me to bring out the knowledge we are supposed to have access to according to everything I’ve read and studied. Have you found the latter to be true as well?

The more I questioned, the more fun life became and opportunities to explore what I could do continued to knock on my door. I excelled in school and sports when I was young and coagulated possibilities across a number of industries as I continued to develop skills. My early marriage failed, though, and hardened my heart toward money as a result. Twenty three years after the divorce and I’m finally recognizing just how deeply wounded I was, heal myself, and creatively open to ascend from the pit. Honestly, I would not have grown to know the secrets of relationship had I healed earlier.

So, back to the question: Are we really one?

To me, because I am an assimilation of my experiences, I hear that question from a different place than most. Beyond the profound personal and professional relationships I’ve developed over the years, there has been a part of me that has remained an observer. I had a recent experience that might make that a little clearer.

On the morning of Good Friday last, seems so fitting now, I was breaking up the lox to add to the eggs and then pour into the sauteed onions simmering on the stove. I was enjoying the moment when suddenly I felt a wave of depression so deep that it caught all of my attention. I mused for a moment, wondering what the heck that was all about. I turned to the stove to pour the mixture into the skillet and noticed that my body was beginning to go limp. I could feel it slipping away and was completely conscious of it, like we were about to separate.

I called for Robin (I knew I was going to head for the bed and our breakfast needed tending) and headed for the bedroom. I was just able to get to the bed and sprawl upon it. I could hear perfectly and was able to speak as well, yet the rest of my body wasn’t cooperating, nor did I particularly want it to at the time. I was rather enjoying the sensation as I was still fully conscious and not afraid of anything.

As I lay there while Robin was tending to breakfast, my eyes were closed. In my field of sight, I noticed a fuzzy thin circle of light that was pulsing in and out, smaller to larger from a ball of light in the center to the circle that took up about 80% of my screen. I watched it for a number of cycles, checking my breathing rate compared to it (different) and feeling my heart beat as I watched. It was really pretty relaxing and when you’ve lost the need to control your body, it was quite freeing to say the least.

I can only assume that, because of the waves of cosmic energy we’re encountering as we move further into the Photon Belt, we can avail ourselves as open-hearted humans seeking to know more about how to be spiritual; connected to everything in ways we are only beginning to experience. There are myriads of folks around the planet who have congruent views and mobius operandi of sorts. I checked in to see if others had similar experiences that day and, oddly enough, many did. Some even experienced their ‘wave’ at the same time. Interesting….

How did we arrive at being available, let alone aware, of this type of possibility? We began tracing the origins of religion to determine where the incongruous or missing data was located. Certainly what we have today is far from the root of the word ‘religion’ – reunion with God. Isn’t that ‘oneness,’ though? A reunion with God? How does that work?

Since my upbringing was Christian, I’ll proffer the findings that led to an interesting conclusion. How were we created? Before Adam and Eve was Adam and Lilith. The latter was a story of equality; created from the same material, at the same time and with equal power. So that cleared the whole patriarchal nonsense up. Constantine did a great job, uniting religion and politics with harsh punishment for those who didn’t follow the faith. Most of our current data is skewed on purpose, leading us astray rather than home.

Then there was the question of Satan. Where did that come from? A considerable amount of research and time showed that the Greek ‘thetan’ was the culprit. It means ‘thinker.’ So our adversary is our mind. Now THAT makes sense. Many years later I had a conversation with Jesus (yes, it’s possible) and he verified that he fought with his mind and not some external tempter. His battle and fears are the same as mine, not being quiet enough to hear well and miss the call for fulfilling my divine mission here on Earth.

So what was that all about? Jesus was different. He demonstrated the connection with the divine and encouraged others to do so as well. He called attention to any lack of integrity, liability, limitation or excuse for limiting their relationship with life and love. Ultimately, he led the way for us to understand that death is not inevitable and that we truly can transcend it just as he did, such as his words to Thomas, “Don’t ye know that ye are god as I am god?” I think that qualifies as oneness, eh?

Now that led me to wondering about Lucifer. According to the records, he was the Most High Angel of Light and Music. Knowing the parameters of quality contained in light and music, there seems little to on likelihood that one of that status would abandon their post. I learned that ‘condensed’ was used in place of ‘fallen’ in some of the ancient texts. Wow, the light went off. Every pun intended there. Lucifer led us into form through condensing our celestial consciousness into these bodies. It has been so long ago that no one remembers.

However, Jesus example of taking us back home – returning to the Father – makes wonderful sense when you look at the ‘cycle’ of incarnation and ascension. No doubt it could take many lifetimes for a consciousness to regain the connections to the finer vibrations after being so dense as a carbon-based life-form. In case that raised an eyebrow, 666 is the atomic number… then number of man, revealed through science. Could be arguable, but you’ve got to admit it all makes sense from a perspective of ONE.

Individuality is not threatened by this perspective at all. In fact, it is encourage through free will, yet there are apparently some blueprints on the soul level that manage the operation of each. Astrology gives us a hint of our potential and provides us with parameters that most closely fit our character and personality in alignment with the stars. Since we come from the stars, stardust, it might make sense to have a working knowledge or your arrangement. Even without it, you can notice how you’ve developed knowledge, skill sets and vocational aptitude over time. If you hate your job, then you probably aren’t aligned with your chart. If you love what you are doing, then the opposite is most likely.

What about business, though? How does that work? Most recently, the International Standards Organization came out with the ISO 26000 standards for social responsibility. The more businesses, companies and corporations can align their behavior with these standards, the better chance we have of creating a new world order of harmony among people and planet and creating harmony from the chaos.

Curious Sorts…. New World Standards

We all seek to understand exactly who we are in order to figure out what we are to do, I think. Have we become too myopic for our own good? Are we capable of shifting if that is the case? How deep is the rabbit hole and how deep can we go in our assessment of what needs to be done and do it? What does the lexicon: Jobarchy bring up for you? Does it sound like the job is the boss? Hmmm… that aligns with service to others -Ra. We find out who we really are in the process of serving. Wow, sounds like the ultimate win/win.

There is a sense of restlessness among the American people. Something is happening in our nation that appears manipulated, even to the casual observer, and we feel helpless in its wake. It amazes the author that a powerful society, led by corporate giants, military elite, and political prominence has gone unchecked for so long. Some time ago, individuals were made sovereign in the United States yet the sovereignty, voting rights, are only used by about a third of those able to vote. What happened?

With respect to all my relatives, it is quite well known through several variations on the theme that the US is supposed to lead by example into the Golden Age, or whatever we choose to call it now. Right? “When the people lead, the leaders will follow” is a button that I have on my favorite jacket. It is truly an honor to be amongst the initiators of the AC. Its commandry complement is a ONEderful process to behold. I feel good about people returning to love after feeling apart. Kinda makes your eyes water a little, huh?

Many voices are echoing a concern for people and planet, renewable and sustainable resources, and the shift needed in our ‘global village’ consciousness. Diversity issues are rampant in the enlightened community still; affecting our ability to perform. I wonder if there is Viagra for the soul? Sheeple, unsuspecting of the adverse effects of cutting edge advertising and marketing, continue to bicker about insignificant issues in the grand scheme of things, yet, will not raise an eyebrow of concern when we spend billions of dollars on foreign aid in a stalled economy. Pointing fingers and crying wolf is certainly not an option. Who listens anyway?

Why not just develop solutions with all the new ‘best practices’ of management philosophy applied to holistic understanding? Begs the question of naivety doesn’t it? Maybe it is better to not know what cannot be done so that we can co-create what answers the situations that are staring us in the face?

I believe when we focus on those things we will experience a wonderful unfoldment of our individual identities far brighter that we ever dreamed possible. By surrendering our lives to the cause, we gain them back exponentially. Kinda funny how that works, huh? We all recognize the spirals of coming into awareness and because of that we become quite forgiving of others, and our own, faults. We’re all doing our best to find common ‘space’ so to speak.

There is a new collective evolving in society- the Cultural Creatives. The Cultural Creatives, a new book by Paul Ray, Ph.D., and Sherry Ruth Anderson, Ph.D., based on research sponsored by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and The Fetzer Institute, estimates that 50 million adult Americans resonate with the emerging new values. The following are just a few:

• Spirituality and personal growth    • Self-esteem and self-empowerment

• Community    • Social healing, reconciliation and conflict resolution

This collective is growing and becoming more restless as lives are lost unnecessarily, through little wills of men. Feminine consciousness and meaningful work are more traits the collective shares. Men can think with just one head when they are secure in themselves. Together constructed plans, projects, and proposals are being shared that utilize our collective passion to love and be loved, beginning with ourselves and expanding into our workplaces, businesses, organizations and schools.

This movement is developing a network of its own throughout the World Wide Web. Where will it go? How can we all have a hand in its direction and find a place for ourselves in the process? There is an area within Human Resources that seeks to answer those questions and more. It is called Organizational Development, or OD in jargon terms. There is a science emerging that reveals how humans with spiritual understanding (connectedness of all things) actually mold and shape their environments to a greater degree of integration, even practiced as diversity initiatives in larger corporations.

Be The Dream is just one group that fits into the collective, offering a variety of concepts, plans, and resources for evolving our society in a big way. As much time as it took to gather information, write and edit, post and build a website to support the effort, it is pale by comparison to the exponential effect from the affect of the individuals devoting their lives to this paradigm shift, this change agentry within the global village. Many unsung heroes and heroines spend countless hours constructing and creating marvelous works on the Web.

Who is guiding, leading, and following? Is any of that happening? How can we utilize our group soul better? As a great man once said, “Change comes from within.” What does it look like when it gets out? Imagine if all our hearts’ desires and dreams expressed in cyberspace and inner-space started leaking out into our everyday space. WOW… worlds of wonder!

Here is one way that may be happening sooner than later. The International Organization for Standards (ISO) has already garnered corporate attention with the ISO 9000 quality management standards. A new and improved social responsibility standard, ISO 26000, was introduced after years of development. It’s premise, to be a first step in helping all types of organization in both the public and private sectors to consider implementing ISO 26000 as a way to achieve the benefits of operating in a socially responsible manner.

From iso.org:

ISO 26000 provides guidance for all types of organization, regardless of their size or location, on:

  1. Concepts, terms and definitions related to social responsibility
  2. Background, trends and characteristics of social responsibility
  3. Principles and practices relating to social responsibility
  4. Core subjects and issues of social responsibility
  5. Integrating, implementing and promoting socially responsible behaviour throughout the organization and, through its policies and practices, within its sphere of influence
  6. Identifying and engaging with stakeholders
  7. Communicating commitments, performance and other information related to social responsibility.

ISO 26000 is intended to assist organizations in contributing to sustainable development. It is intended to encourage them to go beyond legal compliance, recognizing that compliance with law is a fundamental duty of any organization and an essential part of their social responsibility. It is intended to promote common understanding in the field of social responsibility, and to complement other instruments and initiatives for social responsibility, not to replace them.

In applying ISO 26000, it is advisable that an organization take into consideration societal, environmental, legal, cultural, political and organizational diversity, as well as differences in economic conditions, while being consistent with international norms of behaviour. [end]

Now we have the opportunity to rise above our differences and focus on what is important to all of us in order to move forward as a planetary civilization.

A Brighter View of the Morning Star?

toilet1-223x300In lieu of the ‘nefarious’ postulations presented all over the Web now… What are we really here to do? Might it be to learn to transcend all the riff raff and learn how to get along as a planetary society? After all, we are technically one planet and one people.. right? Then why do we continue to allow separative practices? A better question might be, “How do we re-direct all this energy toward creating a better world?”

I agree that as long as we continue to focus on that which separates people, we will remain separate. Is that what we truly desire? I find that more than distasteful. I find it [continued focus on separation] appalling and not something I spend time [attention is an investment] on in most of my daily deliberations. However, in order to shift attention away from what comes so easily to many (perceptively negative thoughts and feelings) it is far richer to focus on people, places and things that create a joyful sensation from the relationships, productivity and results of developing harmony among people and planet… one action at a time.

Life can be a series of synchronistic and serendipitous moments when we choose to change [make choices toward unity] at every opportunity. In this, a line from Vanilla Sky comes to mind, “Every moment gives us the opportunity to change the rest of our lives.” A recent zen calendar saying (a gift from my beloved) reminded me of such precious presence/presents…”In the realm of human destiny, the depth of man’s questioning is more important that his answers.” A few days later this one appeared, “If enlightenment is not where you are, where do you look?”

I think it is safe to say that there is an awareness of cosmic consciousness condensed into form.. us. Each one of us has the opportunity to recognize our Origin – and to acknowledge that place of Origin in each other. My signature has reflected this place for several decades. I produced and hosted a television show in the early 90s that reflected this place… How we can share ways to overcome the fears that keep us separate and grow to know the secrets of unity – one plane, one people, one mind. Not that we give up individuality in the process. Quite the opposite – we become who we are as complete individuals, destined to live as contributors to a better world – one that works for everyone.

Some say this kind of thinking is idealist and even unrealistic. Others find the consideration of such a new living awareness to be the crux of the matter as everything that is not in alignment with this consciousness seems to be crumbling in our world as you read these words. Our abstinence in participation and responsible actions that command our leaders and each other to stand up and behave like the adults of spiritual understanding we know we must be continually plague our relationships on the ocean of emotion swirling around us now.

I have no control over what you think and feel. I barely have control over my own swirling emotions, thoughts and actions as I strive for congruence with this new living awareness in my own life. I can only encourage others and help where ever asked. I’ve learned that to attempt to assist when uninvited is like dealing with teenagers who think they know everything. The entanglements exemplify the push/pull of attempts to control others… inappropriately. We need to ask better questions.

Some examples of better questions might be: Why am I here? Who am I really? What am I here to be/do/have? Where do I best belong? How can I best assist and grow? When is the best moment to serve? Will you (Source) show me, with unquestionable impeccability, how to be in the precious present?

Just my two and a half-sense.

Innovation – An aspect of soul?

Innovation – An aspect of soul?

In today’s world, there are massive challenges and few solutions being offered to overcome the chaos. So many are telling people what to do and so few are asking people why they continue to do what isn’t working. Most recently I’ve participated in numerous opportunities that offer freedom by doing this or that, but they rarely focus on ‘why’ one would want to get involved.

Consequently, there are many seminar leaders who manage the crowds by getting them to respond by slick tricks and/or motivational types of rhetoric that elicits response from a group think perspective. It’s rather interesting to observe the phenomena. People pay lots of money to let themselves by taken over by a new mindset, albeit temporarily in most cases, that provides them with a sense of freedom from what or how they have been programmed to think.

This presentation keys on the simple point of ‘why’ people do things that change their behavior, results or even transform their lives and the lives of others. Why are we so easily led by others? Why do we not question the obvious when we sense something isn’t quite right? Why are we able to achieve amazing things? Why do we see something that needs attention and not give it? Why do we see people who need help and not offer it? Why do we feel like acting on a hunch and not follow through?

I offer that we are so involved in our thoughts – our thinking alone – that we cannot act on what we feel and sense is the right thing to do. From a spiritual perspective, the soul ignites our actions and those actions often involve not thought whatsoever. We just do, often without question. The more we follow those inner promptings the closer we get to the feeling of complete freedom. But, freedom from what? The most obvious and simple answer is: Our Mind.

Does that mean that you don’t think? Of course not. You have intelligence for a reason… use it. Use it appropriately to consider what you can do in life that will offer the most joy and happiness. We all know the phrase, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” How often do we really do that? How often do we persist in doing what we love before we give up and do what we feel others expect us to do? How often do you risk appearing the fool? You might try doing it more often. You’ll be amazed at the results.

Why? Well now, that’s the question, isn’t it? Why? What really motivates you to do what you do?

Human Relationships – Nothing to Lose

SignofFutureI may be completely off track here, but there seems to be a reticence toward openness that creates vulnerability across the dynamics of human relationships. The concerns for acceptance, safety and security appear to be at the root of this resistance. Our global society, it seems, has turned from love and trust to fear of deception. We often complain rather than lead by example or find and support those who can and will.

I don’t think I’m alone in this regard as I’ve had many private discussions that support this observation. How do we move beyond the boundaries of self-inflicted separation when we profess to believe that a holistic perspective is imperative in the world today? We confess to believe in something greater within, yet when it shows up in our face we give it the proverbial stiff arm and run away in our cognitive dissonance.

From corporate conundrums in workplace learning and performance to political postulates for serving the needs of society to religious rhetoric meant to free our souls’ purpose to manifest in our daily lives… its a full stop when simple and obvious questions arise. The truth seems to be always less than full disclosure. Why? How do we first find and then share truth without spending decades or millennia arguing about it? Can we just acknowledge ‘what is’? It may be a challenge. What have we got to lose?

We, as a collective of conscious human beings, are faced with some very important choices as we seek to transform our past profit-driven and less-than-human-friendly decisions into creating a world that makes sense. Life-friendly choices are muddled by cash flow projections, personal liabilities, professional limitations and excuses for not acting in accordance with what we profess to believe – our ability to act in love.

Too often that love is conditional, with expectations that are neither spoken of fulfilled because of our inability to articulate the wisdom we hold as spiritual beings in human form. There isn’t one religion that denies that we are indeed manifestations of some greater intelligence. So where is that intelligence showing up now? I invite you to engage it in your own life and see what happens.

Across the gamut of world government and resource management (human and material) we are experiencing a call for transformation toward something more harmonious, a movement toward telling the truth and working with ‘what is’ rather than hidden agendas and excuses for irresponsible actions. The current conundrums in the US and separation of church and state (not part of the Constitution) are confounding to say the least. Prayers and affirmations of our country (US) that appear to be non-denominational and span that gamut of religious considerations, with only a mention of ‘God,’ are somehow offensive and being removed from our lives.

What I find confusing is the apparent indignation of ‘authorities’ who we’ve looked to for leadership. Instead of revealing a reality that we can all agree is true, there are countless backroom meetings to figure out how to subvert the population into a manageable mass that remains uninformed and even unconscious to their own capability and potential as human beings. This behavior completely denies the human spirit and the possibility of acknowledging that we are spiritual beings at all.

So how do we transform our world even when our leadership is resistant to the changes that are obviously needed to guide our planetary civilization forward in some sort of harmony beyond the current chaos? At least we can have confidence in the process of chaos to order being scientifically sound. How do we utilize this understanding in a mature fashion?

I don’t have all the answers. I may not have any of them. But, I suspect that many across the world are getting fed up with being diagnosed, labeled and accused of being unrealistic when desiring to include a spiritual component in our lives, personal and professional. I perceive that the multitudes of finger-pointers and whistle blowers are affecting the population, but not necessarily in the best way possible. Exposing the truth often causes a rise in anger and frustration that, unchecked, can lead to even more catastrophic behavior. Is this what we truly desire?

Do we look to the skies for help? Do we look deep within for help? Do we propose new possibilities for using our skill sets for the betterment of mankind? Are our [spiritual beings having human experiences] actions congruent with what are perceived to be mission-driven [harmony among people and planet] objectives? Can we pause in process to question and reflect on our personal and professional endeavors to see if they match up? Until we do, and in agreement with a great scientist Albert Einstein, we cannot repair a broken system with the same tools that created it.

For some, and with growing numbers, all of the previous questions mentioned are being considered with greater tenacity. Apparently even the cosmological experts and researchers are chiming in with a recognition that searching a for connection to something greater than we are individually is part of the process humanity finds itself in currently. The questions still remain: Can we learn to be in the precious present without past constraints or future concerns eliminating spiritual possibilities in the present? Can we collaborative create life-friendly solutions that will span hunger, poverty and war? And lastly, how can we work together as one in a harmonious convergence of people, places and things to create a better world?

Removing constraints through building a community of life-friendly relationships across personal and professional endeavors seems to be the best answer. Maybe, instead of criticizing the wealthy for their profit-driven motives, we could approach them for solutions? Turning the tide from rampant consumerism to collaborative community rebuilding that inspires human achievement could dramatically affect the threat of environmental disasters, disease, economic failures, hunger, poverty and social unrest that we currently experience. What have we got to lose?

A New Living Awareness

rockinralfI’m no one special. I was adopted at 6 weeks and had a loving family and upbringing in the Midwest. I’m not sure why, but I’ve had many experiences outside the realms of most religious considerations and certainly outside the realms of psychology and psychiatry to date. I don’t expect the reader to believe anything I say, but test it for yourself as best you can.

Deep questions about my life and living prompted me to offer a prayer to my concept of ‘Creators’ as a teen, which at the time was pretty vast as I knew cosmic consciousness as not only a concept but a deep seated awareness and feeling. My prayer was about knowing truth and being willing to die to know it if necessary. I was in my first year of college, living in the honors dorm at BSU.

The following week I had come back from class, put on Journey’s first album and laid across my bed with my head propped up by the wall and my pillow. As I lay on the bed in silence of mind, just after the verse of a song I heard a voice in my head (I’d actually heard it since I was 6) that asked me if I was willing to die for what I believed in. After I got over the shock of the question I thought about what I believed in enough to die for… Christ or cosmic consciousness was my decision and “Yes” was my answer to the voice.

Instantly I felt a slight tug and was out of body, turning to look at my body lying across my bed and then turning back to look where I was going. I was immediately engulfed by White Light, embraced and surrounded in a feeling of being HOME, the ultimate home. I could think, so I knew I wasn’t ‘dead’ but all I could see was white and I had no tactile sensations. As an impetuous teenager, it got boring quickly and I asked, “Is there more?” There was, but it isn’t necessary to go into here now.

After a brief instructional period I felt a rush of energy and was back in my body taking a deep breath as though I’d been without air for some time. The actual time was about 2 minutes. The experienced and information presented seemed much, much longer. It left an indelible imprint as you might imagine. I’ve made it my life’s mission to fulfill as well as understand, and maybe the two will eventually become one.

That was in 1975, when there was very little written and even fewer people to discuss this with openly. I was lucky my parents had me see a psychiatrist that had some awareness about metaphysics and spiritual awakenings. He advised me to keep my mouth shut because people would not understand me, let alone think I was anywhere close to being sane. Silence was not and is not one of my strong points.

So over the years I researched and studied awareness on deeper levels than most can imagine, let alone experience. I have an intimate awareness and experience of what is being presented as theories in quantum mechanics now, so it is absolutely refreshing to see science and spirituality begin to coagulate in similar understandings. However, because I speak from an awareness rather than theory in most cases, I include many descriptions of events that demonstrate the understanding.

Death is indeed a reality for some, because they believe in it so strongly and have never had cause to question its reality. Folks with trauma-initiated NDEs (near-death experiences) have some greater understanding of the continuation of consciousness beyond the physical body, but still have a tough time believing that one might be able to transcend physical reality with their body.

We hear of the ability to bi-locate and even teleportation, but is it a reality. I’ve had experiences of both, but only the bi-location have I been able to repeat. The teleportation happened as a result of an early morning need to go to the bathroom. It was friend’s home and pitch black at the time. I was conscious enough to open the door and begin to proceed to the bathroom that was on the other side of the house, a good hundred or so paces away with a couple of hallways and turns to negotiate.

I took two steps and ran into a wall where an opening to the living room had been when I went to bed. I felt around for a light switch, found one and flipped it on. I was standing in front of the bathroom door. I have no idea how to explain it, only that it happened. So things way beyond our comprehension at this time are possible and maybe even repeatable if we were able to clear our consciousness of the belief that they are not. My belief didn’t matter at the time… it happened.

Now the concept of death has become a nebulous thought in my life at best. I’ve had several friends and others that have been available for conversations after their passing out of the physical bodies as well. Granted, I don’t make a practice of talking with them a lot, but the opportunities do present themselves. I’ve finally found a woman that isn’t freaked out by the experiences I provide, just by being around me. I have a ‘dead council’ that I call together every few years just to check in with them about ‘progress’ here.

One of the more mischievous strafed her body as he came into the room and sat her up in bed with a hrmmmph, literally. She had been sound asleep and my ‘meetings’ are always done in silence to the naked ear. I asked her what happened and she described feeling like someone had just passed through her body, with no malice intent, but undoubtedly an entity capable of sitting her up. It was then that I told her what I was doing.

Now I also, oddly enough, have a personal testimony of Jesus Christ. He explained to me that there is no Devil, only our mind’s capacity to deceive and respond out of fear. However, you can imagine the grief I get when I share these things, or even hint at their possibility, in Christian environments. I’m so baffled that they will use a book to belittle a living experience of what they so animatedly profess to believe. It kind of reminds me of the oxymoron ‘military intelligence.’ I’ve been told I’m full of Satan and even had some well-intentioned folks show up at my home to tell my wife she needed to leave me as soon as possible. She did, and after many years of struggle she chose to divorce me with prejudice.

Now this was originally about the concept of ‘death’ so let me bring it back into the thread. Unless one has a direct experience of its non-existence it is quite a challenge to wrap your mind around the concept, let alone free your mind enough to move beyond the intellectual constraints of the belief systems that lock you up in it. However, there is a capacity for us to know things beyond this; to know a greater truth that engages choice and free will in a whole new spectrum of experience. I’ve been there my entire life… and very alone in the world.

Imagine if we shifted our consciousness, our focus and attention, onto life-friendly possibilities of connectedness and even harmony and unity among people as a result. Might this new living awareness evolve into a new world order?
